Production facility for Waldemar Link

Waldemar Link GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Hamburg, works every day to ensure that people who rely on an endoprosthesis can live as pain-free and mobile as possible.

In addition to the production site in Norderstedt, a high-technology facility for innovative joint replacement implants was envisioned in Bad Bramstedt. A spacious plot was designated for the construction of a plant dedicated to the development and production of advanced medical technology products. We were commissioned as the general planner to develop a new building in Bad Bramstedt that brings together industrial, administrative, and healthcare-related functions.

A medical technology production facility is subject to extremely strict hygiene requirements: the endoprostheses manufactured there are shipped in a condition that ensures they remain qualitatively flawless and hygienically safe—only to be opened again for surgery and implanted directly in the patient. Everything must be 100% correct. This is the manufacturer’s lived commitment—and therefore also the standard to which the building must be planned.
