In order to adapt to future production requirements, a new paint shop for the colouring of the trucks was built at Jungheinrich’s (JH) largest factory in Norderstedt, with euroterra commissioned to carry out the general planning. A new building has been created between prefabrication and final assembly for painting or powder coating all vehicle components. The new paint shop fulfils high environmental standards with efficient, patent-protected painting techniques in which, among other things, the magnetic charge during powdering causes the paint particles to adhere to the steel in such a way that there is significantly less paint sludge to dispose of. Implementation in the centre of the plant during ongoing operations and the very high fire protection requirements associated with this were also challenging. In order to also improve the working conditions for employees in addition to the necessary functional requirements of the individual coating processes in the new large paint shop building, a direct reference to the outside with daylight entering via vertical window strips was created by euroterra, which is still very popular today and has also become the standard for other JH hall buildings.
