TOGETHER AT ALTONA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL: ON A PROJECT TOUR WITH NEW COLLEAGUES

What do a conference on flat roofs, healthcare buildings and a tour of Altona Children’s Hospital (AKK) have in common? They provided the perfect opportunity for an inspiring exchange among colleagues.

On the sidelines of the Zentrale Technik (ZT)  conference on flat roofs in Hamburg, participants from Hamburg and Berlin headed to Hamburg-Altona in the afternoon. Their destination was Altona Children’s Hospital (AKK) and its ensemble of buildings – a very special place for us, given our more than twenty years of close and trusting collaboration with the hospital.

During a joint tour, colleagues from the ZT had the opportunity to discover several projects that we have planned and supported throughout their implementation over the years. It quickly became clear just how diverse projects and the requirements for healthcare buildings can be – and how many details, ideas and planning considerations, as well as a great deal of passion and dedication, go into each individual project.

The tour was also a great opportunity to get to know one another, exchange experiences and gain a first-hand impression of euroterra’s long-standing work at the AKK site.

And, of course, there was no shortage of attention to detail – after all, flat roofs were at the top of the agenda at the conference. And where better to illustrate the topic than from what is probably the highest flat roof in the AKK ensemble? On a hot summer’s day, the tour therefore took us high up – all the way to the walkway of the helicopter landing pad, offering an excellent overview of the site and its surroundings.
All in all, it was a successful event that brought together specialist topics, fascinating insights and, above all, a great opportunity for colleagues to connect and exchange ideas.
